Doncaster

Litigation Paralegal
Jordans Solicitors LLP
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Salary: From £25,000 (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Application Deadline: Friday 27th February 2026
The Opportunity
Jordans Solicitors LLP is seeking an exceptional Litigation Paralegal to join our respected and expanding Litigation Department. This role offers broad and meaningful experience across dispute resolution, criminal law, miscarriages of justice, and prison law — including work on complex and high-profile matters of national significance.
You will work closely with the Litigation Partner, playing a key role in casework preparation and client support. Few paralegal roles offer this breadth of work — from civil litigation through to appellate criminal cases at the highest courts in the country.
What You’ll Be Doing
Dispute Resolution — supporting a varied caseload including:
- Probate and inheritance disputes
- Property litigation (boundary disputes, landlord/tenant issues, land matters)
- Professional negligence
- Commercial litigation
Criminal Law & Miscarriages of Justice — working on complex and high-profile matters including:
- Investigating and preparing cases involving alleged miscarriages of justice
- Drafting grounds of appeal and supporting applications to the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC)
- Reviewing large volumes of evidence, trial transcripts, and forensic material
- Assisting with cases at all court levels, from the Crown Court through to the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court
Prison Law — handling matters including:
- Supporting the representation of prisoners on issues such as categorisation, parole, and disciplinary proceedings
- Attending prison visits and taking detailed client instructions
- Preparing representations and submissions to the Parole Board and other bodies
Across all areas, you will be:
- Meeting and interviewing clients and witnesses
- Preparing casework and assisting with hearings, conferences, and meetings with counsel
- Undertaking legal research and drafting
- Reviewing and managing substantial volumes of case material
This Is Not an Ordinary Role
We are looking for someone driven, resilient, and committed — a candidate who can demonstrate they have the determination and capability to thrive in demanding and meaningful litigation work.
Essential Requirements
- A strong CV demonstrating relevant legal experience or notable personal development
- Excellent legal research, drafting, and communication skills
- Ability to analyse and digest large volumes of material
- Willingness to travel nationally for client and prison visits
- Flexibility to work outside standard office hours when required
- Based in (or with strong ties to) South Yorkshire or North Yorkshire
- Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential
Career Progression: Clear Pathways to Qualification
We offer routes to qualification, including CILEx, Solicitor Apprenticeship, and a Training Contract.
Qualification support is not automatic and will be considered following a period of assessment within the role. This allows us to evaluate suitability based on the candidate’s performance, commitment, and development before any qualification route is offered.
We actively invest in paralegals who demonstrate commitment, skill, and potential. The breadth of work on offer means you’ll build an outstanding foundation of practical experience across civil and criminal law — giving you a head start whichever route you choose.
Why Join Jordans?
- Unique opportunity to work in a specialist, modern Litigation Department
- Exposure to challenging and meaningful cases across multiple litigation areas
- Be part of a firm investing in AI, innovation, and forward-thinking practice
- Real opportunities for career development and qualification
- Some flexibility in working arrangements (note: not a remote role)
- Make a genuine impact in people’s lives
