Recalls

Recalls

Release on prison licence does not always go to plan and sometimes it may lead to the risk of being recalled - when the Probation Service decide that your risk cannot be any longer be managed in the community . In such a scenario often there will firstly be warnings and a chance to put things back on track - if you are in this scenario we can offer sound advice as to what to do .

After that if the recall happens you need swift help and representation for the urgent Parole Board Review which must follow . Usually there will be a 28 day recall whilst consideration is given as to whether a standard recall is sufficient to address the issue or whether there are greater concerns calling for a longer recall period .

Should this happen detailed representations will be required which we can provide to address 3 options :

  • The Parole Board deciding they cannot release in which case you would need to await your next annual review
  • The Parole Board needs further evidence to decide and fixes the case for an oral hearing
  • The Parole Board grants release on new licence conditions

We can guide you at every stage of the process and all this work can be done under public funding or fixed fees
